Renovations Page

I realise that Renovations aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, so I’ve dedicated this page to before and after pics etc, save the home page for more interesting family goings-on.

The natural topography of Hunters Hill (as the council referrs to it) is sandstone, lots and lots of sandstone. our plot was a particularly “rich” in sandstone, in fact, it was ALL there was. The main focus of the changes we planned to make at this house was to remove a fair amount of the rock, and cover the rest in garden.

All in all it’s been pretty successful, we now have a 1.5m deep pool where there was a 2m high outcrop of rock, and 200 square meters of grass where there was just a badly sloping shelf of stone! Two large retaining walls (made out of sandstone ironically) and 40 cubic meters of crushed stone from the excavation helped give a level base  for the grass.

This is the earliest video I have of the back garden at Bonnefin Road. It was all pretty useless.

This next video is about half way through.

In the last video, the pool’s not yet complete, however the garden is in good shape, we’re really happy with the way it looks.
